Congratulations. Your project has been staffed and you are about to meet with the team for the first time.
Initial impressions are important and you’ll need visuals for your presentation. Create a slide show (in
PowerPoint or similar software) in which you address the following, in this order:
1. Goals: What the project hopes to accomplish.
2. Critical Success Factors: Identify at least 4 different stakeholders; for each, list at least 2 things
that the stakeholder requires in order to deem the project successful.
3. Acquisition strategy: Should the system be built in-house, created by a contractor, purchased offthe-shelf and customized, or leased as a service? Explain your rationale.
4. Resources: For in-house development, what people/skills are required and what development
lifecycle do you recommend? Otherwise, identify 3 candidate organizations that can deliver the

Subject: System Issues
The company has been using the transaction processing system, which is a low form of
information tool, and this may explain why the organization is encountering difficulties in
running its activities. The inefficiency and inadequacy experienced when using the system is due
to its reduced abilities to manage business transactions. The tool is mainly intended to undertake
the light activities in an entity, such as sending statements and invoices to clients and calculation
of tax payments.
The executive desire to install a quality system is a critical procedure of ensuring that the
company’s operations are secure and strongly protected from attacks or any form of loss. The
systems that I will introduce to the organization is executive support systems (ESS). The
decision made by senior management plays a significant role in the direction taken by an entity.
Therefore, it is essential to ensure that management is making informed resolutions.
The EES will help in enhancing the decision-making process among the executive team,
and this will help to solve the various shadow IT projects issues that the firm is currently facing.
Every activity that is being implemented in business relies on resolutions made at the board
level. Therefore, making the rights choices will provide a platform for business growth. Some of

the data and information that will be in this system is the details about future prediction, making
of an unstructured decisions and the performance of the rival entities in comparison to the details
posted by the firm. The old system does not handle such form of data for most of its role has
been producing information for other systems. Some of the problems that have been arising are
the inability to understand industry for there is no external data, and the management has been
using unreliable data to make decisions. The current system is more advanced and has higher
capabilities and accuracy levels (Kamaruddin, 2017). Some of the functions that will be
undertaken by the new system will be a transformation of the enterprise data into executive
reports. The executive system has been successfully used in the education domain over the years.
Section 2
One of the latest cyber-attacks was in Choice Hotels, and it was caused by criminals who
usually infect or lockdown the organizational system for a ransom. The system was unprotected,
and the hackers realized that anyone with an internet connection could access it. More 700,000
guest records were stolen, and this issue is delicate with such a vast amount of information in the
hands of unauthorized personnel. The hotels may incur a financial loss as it tries to ensure that
the data is not used for malicious damage (Bischoff, 2019). Additionally, the hackers may hold
the firm at ransom, which will lead to loss of funds. The hotel may incur additional costs of
ensuring that they manage to secure their systems. The realization that the hotel has been
attacked and their information lost, customers may shun away from visiting the organization.
The reputation of Choice Hotels will be managed to an extent. As a manager, some of the steps
that I can take to raise the security of the system would include identifying the threats which
should be tackled immediately before attacking the details in the computer systems and leading
to financial loss. Being aware of cybercrimes and the use of two-factor authentication is another

critical tool to employ in protecting a network (Engle, 2019). Some of the details that can be kept
in the cloud include spreadsheets, documents, and email messages. Personal data, such as credit
card information, employees’ records, and company financials, should not be in the clouds.
These details are sensitive when lost, and a firm should ensure that they are safe in a place that
hackers cannot access.

Introduction
I am pleased with your decision and understanding of the need for organizational change,
particularly in the information technology section. TPAC must implement the proposed
information system to improve the responsiveness to competition and the provision of improved
customer experience. The transformation process will require the integration of various pieces of
equipment and resources in addition to specific change frameworks to ensure the implementation
process is successful. The effective change process focuses on minimizing the likelihood of
resistance by harmonizing the needs of employees and the goals of the organization concerning
the transformation in the information system of the company. Although change management is
constant, leading change has proven to be among the most challenging burdens of a leader’s
command. The execution of the new information system does not only focus on lowering costs
but also in minimizing errors in the claims administration process and provision of improved
customer experience.
Implementation of Proposed Information System.
My role as the leader and project change agent will primarily focus on the provision of
consistency and vision during the transition process. In particular, while the management team
emphasizes addressing processes and systems, my leadership responsibility will focus on
working with employees through challenges and reinforcing their strengths to enhance the
successful implementation. Moreover, I will facilitate clarity, accountability, and connection,
especially amid change. Effective leaders ensure clarification and active communication of the
vision and thus the need for transforming the organization. I will enhance communication and
interaction between the employees and management to enable them to accept and see the
relevance of the required change. It is also critical to demonstrate sponsorship and role modeling
as leaders need to act as change advocates by using leadership capital to initiate change.
Furthermore, I will illustrate the attitude and behavior for change, which will translate into an
example that will be followed by the employees.
A wide range of resources will be required to implement the information system change
needed to minimize errors in processes and lower costs. Specific ones comprise a group of staff
members that will work on the implementation procedure, about seven dedicated systems, 600
MB of memory and 700 MB of disk space on every order, an integrated system with windows
2010 server and change management as well as a risk analysis team to work comprehensively on
the execution process. Also, it’s critical to have comprehensive knowledge in the current
Information Technology infrastructure of the organization to understand the claims processing
application. It is evident in the case study that a particular claim was manually processed by a
Benefits Administrator and thus the previous system allowed for errors and inconsistency as
there was no auto processing of claims. Additionally, the project will require sufficient funds to
purchase a new information system application needed to upgrade and transform the current
system of the organization. Training room and materials will also be necessary to facilitate the
change process as the staff members participating in the transformation process will be trained
and educated on how the procedure will be conducted.

Project Risks and Project Scope
Project uncertainties and risks are expected as it is normal for any project implementation.
However, it is crucial for management to partner with project leaders and experts in forecasting
and managing these creeps and risks. Increased functionalities, lack of minimal executive
sponsorship, in addition the inability to follow the formal channel of the change management
process, increases project failures, and thus scope creeps. Therefore, organizational leaders
