student’s post:
The most striking thing, in my opinion, about “The Graduate” was how dramatic certain scenes were. It was striking because it was almost laughable the way some of the women would scream in small situations. It was very different from acting in the modern day so it was very interesting to see that. So, I would say that this movie is obviously a mix of drama and also romance. The fight between Ben being seduced by Mrs. Robinson and wanting to date her daughter was very dramatic. And his love for Elaine made Ben really fight to have her, like the last few moments in the film when he drives and runs all over to get Elaine before she is married. The antagonist in this film is Ben and the protagonist is Mrs. Robinson because she is very manipulating and controlling.
