A. Controlling the spread and impact of HIV is a key objective for most public health
experts.
a) Advising the public to promote male circumcision is also a key measure to be considered
in this case (London & Driscoll, 2017).
b) Public health officers have the duty of educating the public about the spread of the fatal
disease.
c) It is important for the public to understand that HIV/AIDS spreads through having
unprotected sex.
d) Innocent babies are faced with the risk of being infected through births and breastfeeding.
e) Sharing needles is a major contributing factor among the members of the public who use
illicit drugs (Anema, Freifeld, Druyts, Montaner, Hogg & Brownstein, 2017).

a) Testing for HIV is the most recommendable practice that public health experts can use to
identify the ailment.

muscles, skin rash, diarrhea, nausea, and dry cough.
C. Public health ensures that people understand various ways that they could apply in the
prevention of HIV/AIDS
a) Creating HIV/AIDS awareness is a major responsibility that public health experts have
been keen at promoting in various parts of the globe (Roberts, 2016).
b) Advising the public to use a condom each time they have sex with an untested partner is
one key measure of HIV/AIDS prevention.
c) Seeking medical care once pregnant is important to save the child from getting the
disease.
d) Using clean needs to avoid infection is one practice that public health experts need to
promote in the country.
D. Public health experts have ethical responsibility of controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS
since it is a global hazard affecting the members of the public.
a) Ensuring that people are tested for the ailment through campaigns is an important
initiative (Shiboski, Webster-Cyriaque, Ghannoum, Greenspan & Dittmer, (2016).
b) The introduction Post-Exposure Prophylaxis is a key measure that public health officers
promote for people that have been exposed to the drug.

nurses, technicians, pharmacists, administrators, and others. They all work together as a single

Public health is no different. Public health is also a multidisciplinary field composed of
epidemiologists, environmentalists, biostatisticians, behavioral scientists, and/or health
educators. Public health also includes specialists in clinical research, chronic disease, infectious
disease, emergency medical services, food safety, global emergency preparedness, and
response professionals. Some public health specialists focus on health disparities,
international/global health, laboratory practices, maternal and child health concerns, women’s
health, mental health, nutrition/dietetics, occupational health and safety, and toxicology.
Finally, there are public health officials that focus on the economics or finance, of public health
and communities, in addition to public health laws and public health policies.
You Decide!
For your class term paper, choose a public health topic or public health profession that most
interests you. Research your topic and show how your topic or profession chosen is integrated
and/or has a positive effect on populations and community health. Example topics would be,
