TITLE: Research Report
WEIGHTING: 30 marks
LENGTH: 3000 words (+/- 10%) for undergraduate students
DUE DATE: 2 July 2019
TASK: Prepare an original research report based upon two of the following topics or an
approved topic of your own.
Suggested topics:
1) What are the main changes in China since 1990? Highlight the cultural, social, political
and economic changes.
2) What are the main obstacles for Australian business to doing business in Asia?
SUBMISSION: an electronic copy of your report to Canvas via Turnitin with a completed
Individual Assessment Cover Sheet attached
GUIDELINES:
•
You are encouraged to suggest your own research report topic, particularly if it is relevant to
your own business experience or field of study, but please make sure that you seek approval from
the academic tour leader for your suggested title before commencing work on the report.
•
The report should align with first-hand experiences gained during the trip and involve
additional research.
•
The research for this report is not restricted to academic articles and books, and the use of
industry white papers, newspapers and recent news articles are encouraged, but please NO
WIKIPEDIA! Also the references should be evenly balanced between all the resource options.
•
You must acknowledge your sources throughout the paper using the Harvard referencing
system. It is not acceptable just to include a reference list at the end of your report.
•
The report should be checked for grammatical and spelling errors, consistency, and clarity of
expression.
•
The report should be word-processed with left alignment using the font Times New Roman,
and size 12 with 1½ line spacing.

A word count should be provided at the end of the report.
