Description
(From the syllabus) Students will select a book about the Great Recession. In your review, you are to give me what the “hook” of the book is—the specific element/punchline of the book. Determine if the topic unique or parallels the discussion of historical crises. Try to tie the book’s main argument to what was covered in the course. Does the book add anything to what was developed in class? Do you see studied episodes differently after reading the book? Students will be given preliminary assignments throughout the semester to help guide their final paper. We will divide the assignments as follows: book selection (Week 04: Book Review – Preliminary 01) key idea that you want to explore (Week 08: Book Review – Preliminary 02) your critical analysis summary (Week 12: Book Review – Preliminary 03) Your current assignment (Week 12: Book Review – Preliminary 03) is to write your critical analysis section based on your key idea for your book review. From the outline below, this assignment deals with the “Evidence” bullet and its subsections. Here, you will provide evidence to support your key idea through a critical lens. A broad outline for for your book review includes most of the following elements. (The outline is a modifications of the AACU Rubric for Critical Thinking and Rollins’ rFLA materials for available for faculty.) Can you please go based on the argument I have from my outline. Also, my writing style is not that advanced and experienced so if it’s possible please write a little less sophisticated than you probably would. Also please use quotes from the book and go based on the instructions and the outlined questions in them. Can you find quotes to support my argument too?********** Previous Next
