For this short essay, you will write a 500-750-word narrative that tells a story about something significant or important that happened to you on social media (it can be either positive or negative). Include a separate cover page. The essay must be written in Times New Roman, 12-pt font, and it must be double-spaced. The cover page must be formatted per APA style. You must also submit your graphic organizer or outline as a separate attachment.

DO NOT DO RESEARCH FOR THIS ESSAY. We have not yet learned APA documentation format. Trust your own ideas. You can effectively support your thesis statement with your own examples.

Note:
** Do not use the second-person point of view in your paper by using “you.” The use of “you” is not appropriate for academic essays.

Make sure that you have an introduction that provides your two-part thesis and logical organization, support throughout your essay that supports or proves your thesis, and a conclusion that restates and summarizes the ideas put forth and proven in the essay.

In a narrative, you use chronological or time order organization. That is, you tell the series of events as they happened, one after the other.

Introductory Paragraph:
* Begin with an attention-getter. Then, provide some background information. You need to include a thesis statement at the end of the introduction. A thesis is a complete sentence that includes your subject and clearly states an IDEA about that subject; a thesis statement takes a stand, expresses a viewpoint, or states an opinion about your subject. In this narration essay, your perspective or opinion will be about the importance of your topic.

Body Paragraphs:
* Focus each body paragraph on one particular main idea that supports the opinion in your thesis statement. You may have learned to write a five-paragraph essay in high school. This essay may be five paragraphs, with three body paragraphs, but it does not have to be. You must fulfill the length requirement of 2 pages. However many paragraphs you have, you must prove your thesis.

Include a topic sentence at the beginning of each paragraph. A topic sentence is like a thesis, but it only serves one paragraph instead of the entire essay. Be sure to use transitions (in addition, furthermore, moreover, etc.) to help make your writing flow smoothly from one idea to another. You’ll need to include plenty of details and examples that support the opinions in your overall thesis and the topic sentence for that paragraph.

*Concluding Paragraph:
For the last paragraph of your essay, summarize your main points, and remind the reader of your thesis (in different words from the introduction.)
