For this lab, I have a series of steps that I want you to take and some guided questions to aid your understanding. While you are working through this lab you should have the questions below copied into a document. Please answer each of the questions in full sentences. At the end of the instructions, take a screenshot of the completed activity and embedded it in your document with the completed questions. Submit your document to this assignment
Please use the link below to take you to the PHET simulation site, and click on the “phase change” section to perform the following activity. Please review the Gas Laws before beginning this assignment.

What you are looking at is an enclosed container with a pressure indicator, a heat/cooling source, a finger that can add as a change of the container’s volume, and a pump that can add new molecules.
1) What is the initial internal pressure of the container before adding the heat? Now add enough heat so that the Neon gas is at least 60 K (Kelvin). What is the pressure after the heat is added? Please determine if this simulation followed Charles’ Law (V=kT). Why or why not? What if the gas was not enclosed by the container, would the volume change then? Support your answer by using the change in internal pressure as justification.
2) Now add approximately 20 molecules using the pump. What is the new pressure inside the container? What led to the change in pressure? Knowing the answer to the previous question, try to explain what pressure is actually a measure of, using the concepts of: Atoms, kinetic energy/collisions, and the area that the gas is enclosed in.
3) Lastly, use the finger to press down on the container about one quarter of the way. For our purposes, consider the finger to be the external pressure on the gas. Did this simulation follow Boyle’s Law (P=k/V)? Now look at the new internal pressure reading and compare it to the last reading you had in question #2. Is the internal pressure higher or lower than before, and why? By calculating the difference between the pressure in question #2 and the pressure now, estimate the external pressure produced by the finger.
