Length: 5-6 pages or 1.5-2 pages for each of the three sources

Annotated Bibliography
What is it? Annotated means when you actively read material, articles, essays,
stories, etc, you take notes, look up words you do not know, write down
connections the information reminds you of, etc.
Bibliography means all the source publication information. On the References
page, the source information is formatted with a hanging indent. Regardless of the
style (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc), the publication information is pretty much the
same. The order and the formatting of the information is the main difference.
Why? Authors (this means you) gather information to provide credibility to their
research essays. One way to keep track of research, credibility, information, and
connections is to write an Annotated Bibliography. This is the purpose for doing an
Annotated Bibliography.
What are the REQUIREMENTS? This Assignment has 4 PARTS for each
source.

1. Each source will begin with a SOURCE CITATION formatted according to
   MLA.
2. Then, for each source, you will compose a 1-2 paragraph SUMMARY.
3. After the summary, You must compose an EVALUATION for each source
   discussing all four issues:
   o Author credibility and scholarship.
   o Journal credibility and reliability in which the article has been
   published.
   o The publication date’s relevance to your topic of research.
   o Any bias the author reveals for or against your stance of the topic.
   Essay 3: The Annotated Bibliography
4. The last part of the annotated bibliography for each source will be a NOTES
   section where you have an opportunity to make connections between the
   source and your research essay.
   o You are required to write YOUR THESIS for every source.
   o INTRODUCE and provide context from the article to your argument
   making sure to use a descriptive signal phrase.
   o Actually, Quote, Summarize, or Paraphrase any information you
   plan to use in your research essay including in text documentationCITE.
   o Conclude this section with an EXPLANATION how the borrowed
   information supports your thesis. If it does not, do not incorporate it
   here.
   You are required to gather three sources * from academic journals for your
   research essay from two different Alabama Virtual Library or Stafford Library
   databases via Columbia College: Academic Search Premier and Opposing
   Viewpoints in Context.
    Sources must include:
5. One scholarly peer reviewed critical essays from an academic database,
   such as Academic Search Premier and be 5+ pages
6. One newspaper article via Proquest Global Stream OR one trade
   magazine article/periodical
7. One chapter in a book OR another scholarly peer reviewed critical
   essays from an academic database of 5+ pages.
