Annotated Bibliography
Bailyn, Bernard. The ideological origins of the American Revolution. Harvard University Press, 2017.
In this book, Bailyn describes how the idea of the American Revolution came to being. He says that the American war was not part of the revolution but was only an effect and a consequence of the war. Bailyn clarifies that reticence was not part of the war thus should not be termed as the main cause of the war.
Baldwin, Alice M. The New England Clergy and the American Revolution. Raven Books, 2017.
In her book, Alice explains the contribution of the New England Clergy in the American revolution. She puts it on record that the clergy supported the revolutionary war indirectly although they could call for peace and unity they knew they also needed to acquire independence. The Northern colonies invaded other regions for spiritual satisfaction as they wanted to transform more people to join their religion. She states that all newcomers to the American base were reminded of the politico-religious controversies in the 17th century.
LeGresley, Eric, and Kelley Lee. “Analysis of British American Tobacco’s questionable use of privilege and protected document claims at the Guildford Depository.” Tobacco control 26, no. 3 (2017): 316-322
LeGreasley et al., (2017) analyzes tobacco as the common crop is grown by both the Southern and Northern colonies and highlights the control measures for the plant. He argues that the British American Tobacco misused the privilege given to them concerning the crop as well stated in the protected document presented at Guildford Depository. Tobacco was valuable and had to be protected from malicious people.
Mackesy, Piers. “British Strategy in the War of American Independence.” In Revolutions in the Western World 1775–1825, pp. 87-105. Routledge, 2017.
Mackesy outlines the strategies that enabled Americans to gain their independence. In his book, Mackesy claims that the American independence war was specifically won because of tactical prowess and the British resources which were far much better than those of the opponents. British loss would be disastrous hence they had to employ all the best mechanisms to win the battle at all costs. The American success strategies were implemented by the decisiveness of the administrative forces.
