European Renaissance
This essay will be about transition to the early European Renaissance in one or more of the following subjects: art or the arts, architecture, philosophy, society and/or culture(s) of Europe between 1300 and 1600.
Write a thoughtful essay related to one or more of the following topics: science and/or scientific thought; philosophy or political philosophy; mores and norms; architecture, secular literature, music, dance and/or other art(s); the Reformation and Counter-reformation; gender role constructs; popular culture(s); and/or non-religious institutions.
You must consider the City of Rome in your essay. Your essay should also include geographical comparison concerning either:
(a) Rome vís a vís other areas of Europe, or
(b) Early Renaissance Europe vís a vís either East Asia or the
Americas.
In your discussion, compare and contrast your two geographical places in relation to your selected topic(s).
